To those interested in entering the baronial championship for A. S. 60 (2025),
As an explorer on the Arts and Sciences path, one of my greatest thrills is pushing out the boundaries of what I know, what I can do and maybe even what is known by the world at large. For that reason, the theme for the competition to choose the next Concordian A&S Champion will be:
“Challenge Yourself”
What this means is open to interpretation depending on who you are. Bring your best, or bring your best effort, but we want to hear about what made it chalenging for you. Did you tackle a new technique? An unfamiliar field of research? A task that gave you a lot of difficulty? Share both your victories and your mistakes…maybe especially the mistakes, because how you handle the mistakes is what will get you to those sucesses.
The contest specifics:
Anyone is welcome to bring their work to display. You can choose whether you want to compete in the contest for the war point and seperately, whether you wish to compete for the position of baronial champion.
Please do include documentation with your project. It can be short, but we do want to see it. (Need help with documentation? Check out this reference at the EK MoAS site: https://moas.eastkingdom.org/documentation-data-and-research/)
The display space will be in one of the fairground buildings (sheltered from rain, but wind may be a factor, so secure your stuff). The max ammount of space to display your project will be one standard-size picnic table. (Adjacent standing displays for large items are ok.) Smaller size displays may be consolidated to two per table.
The winner of the war point contest will be decided by a populace choice vote. The baronial champion will be chosen by the Baron and Baroness which may or may not match the populace choice vote; the Baron and Baroness are looking for someone who will be a good representitive for the barony and best rises to the challenge that’s been set.
Finally, if you have any questions or are looking for help with your project, feel free to get in touch with me by email (300102@members.eastkingdom.org) and I can try to connect you with people and resources.
Yours in Service,
Amalberga de Scriver, Concordian A&S Champion for A. S. 59
